How To Apply

Product, room and floor temperature must be between 15-30°C. Wood humidity must not exceed 12%. Ensure good ventilation during application and when drying. The wood must be newly sanded, use grit 100-120 for the final sanding. Vacuum thoroughly. Clean the wood with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner and leave it to dry for at least 8 hours before applying the oil.

1. Thoroughly shake the container of Master Colour Oil, both before and during use. Containers with different batch numbers should be mixed to avoid colour mismatch.
2. Apply the oil using a short-bristled paint roller (3-4 mm) in an even coat. Work in small areas of no more than 10 m² at a time.
3. Leave the oil to soak in for 10-20 min. If the oil soaks quickly into the wood, apply more oil.
4. Polish the oil into the wood until the surface appears saturated. Use a buffing machine with a beige pad for large areas and a polishing cloth/pad manually for small areas.
5. Remove excess oil with dry, lint-free cotton cloths or pads until the surface no longer appears wet. Continue until the whole area has been polished and excess oil has been thoroughly removed.
6. To ensure a good saturation the surface should be re-polished with 1 dl Master Colour Oil per 10 m² within 6-12 hours after the first application. The oil should be polished thoroughly, as described in step 4+5.
7. The surface can be used with caution after 12-24 hours and is fully hardened after 5-7 days at 20°C and 55% humidity, after which rugs etc. can be placed on the floor.

Regular cleaning: WOCA Natural Soap or WOCA Oil Refreshing Soap. Re-oil the surface with WOCA Maintenance Oil or Maintenance Gel as required. Please note: Do not expose the surface to water or clean it for the first 7 days while the oil is hardening.

Oil finishing and colouring in one application. Suitable for oak, ash, spruce, larch, pine and teak, as well as cork. Colour Oil may be used on both unfinished or freshly sanded interior woodwork.

  • Shake the container with Colour Oil well before and during application.
  • Apply the oil in an even coat onto an area of approx. 15 m2 with a short-haired paint roller. Let the floor absorb the oil for approx. 20 min. Subsequently, the oil is worked into the wood with a yellow polishing pad either manually or for large areas with a floor machine.
  • Polish for approx. 15 min. till the floor appears saturated with oil.
  • Beware! Should any excess oil appear on the surface, remove this with cloths or paper or scrape onto next section of floor to be oiled. Buff floor with white polishing pads and with lint-free cotton cloths under the floor machine.
  • The colour oiled floor is pre-hardened after approx. 6 hours at room temperature of 20°C and completely hardened after 5 days.

If a silk-matt surface is required, the finished floor may be buffed with 1 dl of Colour Oil to 10 m2 of floor. This is done after the pre-hardening time and the oil must be polished carefully into the floor.
Cover walking areas with corrugated cardboard for 5 days.
Clean with Natural Soap. Maintain with Maintenance Paste or Colour Oil, but first clean with Wood Cleaner.

Risk of self-ignition: Due to the risk of self-ignition it is important that sanding dust and oil wetted cloths are soaked in water and disposed of in a tightly closed container after use.
